power supply loads

Will adding additional hardware overload a desktop PC power supply ? How do you know what size supply should be needed ? Off the shelf PCs have low output power supply . If I add memory etc. do I need to replace the power supply ? HELP

Memory sucks up very little power so you most likely wont need to upgrade your power supply. If were talking upgrading your video card or CPU which suck take the most power then yes it does matter and it depends on the particular video card and CPU some GPU's and CPU's take more power then others.
