Hi there, I am thinking of getting gtx 750ti or gtx660 but I dont know if I should. My monitor is a bit old, its the LG Flatron L1752TQ. My pc can handle most GPUS since it does have pci and pci-e slots. Do you think that gtx 750 is too good for the old monitor? If you got any better recommendations, then you are free to write them. P.S: im aiming to play new games in good/ultra quality.

You shouldn't need a new PSU but you might be cutting it very close depending on the quality of your PSU, I saw the 750Ti consume 221w in a top of the range system.

The R9 270 isn't massively better, but it'll definitely be noticeably better.

Oh, forgot to add that the R9 270 is only ~£20 more than the 750Ti for a very nice performance boost, but...

I would go with the r9270 its a faster card and the same price depending on where you purchase it.

It cant hurt to have a better card so you can max the game in whatever resolution your monitor runs at. It makes for a smoother experience while gaming.

To be honest with that monitor, providing you have the PSU, any video card is going to absolutely max out any game at 1024x768.

As pfunkmd said; the R9 270 is also better than the 750Ti and slightly better than the GTX 660.

Are you planning a monitor upgrade?

At 1024x768 I would recommend a r7 260x or r7 265, both are better than the 750ti and one is priced lower while the other is priced the same. But if your power supply is not capable, then Get the 750ti instead!

I dont think i am planning to upgrade my monitor, maybe later. Also, what PSU do i need for it? I know i will have to definitely upgrade since my one is only 250 W or something.

Yeah, that PSU is going to hold you back :( In that case, a 750Ti might be the best choice, it's more power efficient than any of the cards listed.

I can upgrade to a better PSU, just tell me which one, since i want to get the most out of the games as much as its possible.

At those resolutions a 750Ti would get the most out of your games. But a good quality 450-500w PSU would be a really nice upgrade. The XFX Pro Core Edition 450w would be an awesome choice, but I don't know how far you might want to go with the GPU.

So, do i need a new PSU for 750Ti? or will it go fine with the one i got? Also, is R9 270 alot better than 750Ti or only a bit?

I thought the r9 270 only uses a max of 150w It only has one 6 pin power connector the 290x has two

Guess what?! It turns out that i just got enough for new PSU and R9 270! So are you sure that the R9 270 is better?

I'm just going off the average build with a quad core CPU, 2 sticks of DDR3, 1 7200RPM HDD and a CD drive, it comes to ~250w which is the absolute minimum too.

Awesome! Go for it. The R9 270 is quite a lot better :)
