So my discovery won't idle correctly (Floats between 750-1100 rpm, abruptly doing so)
And has a pretty rough misfire.

But heres the weird part, it will accelerate and rev just fine up to 5500 rpm and have plenty of power, but after I let off, it starts to miss badly and sometimes stalls.

I have checked the idle air control valve, stepper motor, throttle position sensor, all fuses, and has new plugs and wires.

Any clue you guys? Im checking fuel pressure today.

Could be as simple as a fuel filter needing replaced. Do you know if that has ever been serviced?

+1 to COLGeek.

Also try using an injector cleaner (I use LucasOil) and make sure your air intake and filter are in good shape.

If the fuel pressure is good and none of the above help, check the MAF and MAP sensors. I'd put money on the MAF being the culprit to this.

likely not a fuel filter because you said it accelerates up to 500 and has plenty of power...i would try to block off the EGR valve and see if the problem goes away
