So, I have a new rig, and I just need to buy a monitor. I will be playing games mostly, however i do want a good, clear picture. I was looking at the VG248QE because of its 1ms response time and 144hz refresh rate, but i heard the colors aren't that great and it is not "flicker free." So, I've taken my interests into IPS panels. I was interested in the 1440p display option. Sadly, they do not make a 24" 1440p monitor, so I would have to settle for a 27" (not sure if that's too big for gaming up close?) I know the Korean monitors are cheaper than the rest. So far, I've narrowed it down to the Yamakasi DS270, the Crossover 27QW, and the QNIX QX2710. These are all of the 1440p displays I was interested in because of the pricing. However, would it better to get a 1080p 23"-24" monitor? If so, i was looking at the IPS panels, ASUS MX239H or the ASUS VN248H-P. Maybe even the Dell U2312HM (just not sure on this one's 8ms response time.) However, I might just go with the Benq EW2440L for flicker free. In conclusion, I know I have a lot of narrowing down to do still. I just want a monitor that will look amazing where I can sit right in front of, at a desk, to play games. It doesn't need to have to fastest response time or refresh rate, although it would be a plus. My choice would already be made if they just made a 24" 1440p monitor. I don't want eye damage or something from sitting close up to a 27" display unless it's okay. Any solutions?

Asus VG248QE is one of the best 1080p monitors !!!

I own it and DAMN very ultra happy with it !!!
I also supports G-SYNC and 3D

1440 is best with 27" and 24" is best for 1080p , according to ur needs get Asus VG248QE .

also getting 1440p monitor will ned a powerful gpy like gtx 780 etc to throw any game at ultra setting .

Eye damage depends on you .

I have spent hours , sometimes days playing with 4 monitor setup and I don't have any eye problem :D . |

Hope this helps !!! still if you have any question ask me :)
