monitor unable to display properly?

hi all,
i have recently purchased an lg 24mn42 monitor.the native resolution of the monitor is 1920x1080 but when i use it i shows as the native res is 1366x768. i managed to change the resolution to 1080 but the display its seems to be blur and not "HD". It shows the recommended resolution is 1366x768 but the user manual says it supports 1080p.my previous monitor was having this resolution .is this happening because of that?i have tried to reinstall the drivers but nothing worked.
i am using a GTX 650 ti GPU and a belkin HDMI.

Uninstall all drivers , reboot , then install drivers for graphics card and monitor. That should clear any old settings that are hanging around.

actually by pc they mean the vga port. i am using hdmi
