No sound coming out of my PC?

ok, so the question in the title speaks for itself. Suddenly, I have no sound coming out of my speakers. I reinstalled newest REALTEK sound drivers, nothing. I checked to see if speakers were muted, they weren't. I checked to see if speakers were enabled in sound manager and they were. I tried different speakers but no luck. However, when I plugged my HDTV into my graphics card via the HDMI cable, there was sound. This is leading me to believe that there is a problem with the green red and blue sound connector jack things in my motherboard and that ther are not working. However, I also have an extra connector thing plugged into my mother board which is at the front of the PC, and has extra USB slots and 2 more jacks. When I plug my speakers in these jacks, still no sound. Can someone explain the problem to me please?

Many graphics cards have their own built-in sound chip. When you have multiple sound devices you can manage which one you use in the Windows Control Panel in the Sound section.
