what is the blue USB cord used for?

I'm almost finished building my PC but there is this blue USB cord I cant find the socket on my mother board any were. the cord comes out of the top front of the case. I'm using the Zalman Z5 plus case with the AS rock 990fx extreme 3

Yes...it's a USB cord, that plugs into a USB socket, and probably USB 3.0. It does not connect to the motherboard.
