Hi all,

I wanted to see if anyone knew if it was possible to install windows on my SSD without purchasing an adapter such as this:

http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Easy-Laptop-Install-2-5-inch/dp/B00C981DDY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1393205581&sr=8-1&keywords=Crucial+Easy+Laptop+Install+Kit+for+2.5-inch+SSD

Also, my computer has no optical drive. I could care less about moving over the current documents because the computer is brand new, I just need to somehow get Windows ported over to the new SSD. THANKS!

So I have my new laptop with the HDD still in it. I will install soon but wanted to see how I would get Windows onto the new SSD. I found this:

http://www.guidingtech.com/10026/create-bootable-windows-8-usb-drive-iso-image/

About making a USB bootable sub. If I make this bootable usb, install the SSD, then plug the usb in and boot up - will it start installing Windows?

Thanks!

Yes thats right. Just remember to make sure bios boots from USB first. Then after install change it back so it boots windows from your freshly installed SSD.
edit:actually, after install, your OS will recognise the new SSD as primary boot drive automatically (assuming there is no other drive with windows on it)

First plug in the USB boot device--------> restart----------hit whatever F key to Go into BIOS-------->Find boot order setting-------->pick "boot from USB/Removable Drive"-------> save and restart.
The rest is automatic.
