Can I use a 6 pin PCIe to dual 8 pin PCIe cable to connect a graphics card?

Hello, I am looking forward to buying an AMD Radeon R9 270x (Probably asus or sapphire, still to make my mind up) and My PSU i 700w and is running an AMD FX-4100 and will be running 8GB ram ddr3 @1333mhz this week (now its 4gb) and my PSU only has 1x 6 pin PCIE connector and the one I want needs 2x 8pin. Could I use a splitter or something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-pin-PCIe-to-dual-8-pin-PCIe-cable-18cm-cable-length-/310844314540
to make it work? or do I need a new PSU? Thank you.

Will it work? Yes. But if your "700W" PSU only has a single 6 pin connector, I'm betting it is a cheap unit that can't come close to 700W. The PSU may fry. What is the +12V rails rating on the nameplate?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I assume it's under "output characteristics" and it says 21A
If that helps, it's a CIT 700ub.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge, I'm still learning things about computers.

If this is your PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/169063-cit-700w-black-edition-psu-12cm-fan-dual-12v-rail-20-4pin-2x-psucit700ub
...it actually has 2 x +12V rails rated at 21 amp each. That would be sufficient for the R9-270X. The card is a 180W card maxed out. That relates to 15A on the +12V rail(s). What is surprising to me is that the PSU only has a single PCIe aux connector. With 42A available at the +12V rail, it should have at least 2 aux connectors.

I would expect that PSU to be fine with the R9-270X. That card is basically the HD 7870X re-branded. You can either use the splitter or use one of the Molex to PCIe adapters that come with the card.

Thank you. This is exactly my PSU. Thank you very much for your answer. I am very grateful for it and I don't know myself why it only has one psIE aux connector but I didn't pay much for it. So thank you again.
