Could anyone help me to understand what would happen to any data stored within the cloud. Also could anyone supply me with a link or a good explanation of the cloud within the web and is it possible for data to actually exist while web down and then retrievable without corruption afterwards?

Help would be very much appreciated

Well, with cloud storage, your files that you upload are stored on physical hard drives in servers remotely. Internet or not, the data will be fine as they are stored physically. Of course you will not retrieve data until both the server location and you have an internet connection. Thus data stored in the cloud is practically incorruptible.
