Not sure if PSU is dying/borked

Hello. Long time caller, first time poster.

My last computer literally caught fire, from what I can tell it was the old GFX (as it blew up in the new MOBO as well). I got a new MOBO/CPU combo:

Gigabye Z87-D3HP
Haswell i7-4700k

As well as a new Radeon 7850.

I put in all my old parts that still worked:

16GB RAM, Corsair Vengeance (tested to see if it was the problem, passed)
120GB Samsung SSD
1TB 5200rpm WD HDD
Cooler Master 1000w Silent Pro

Now, before I get into my computer's symptoms, I will go over a few things that were happening in my old computer:
The new PSU is an upgrade, and as soon as I set it up, it started being insanely loud and then insanely quiet in ten minute cycles. In my new rig, it is very quiet. So I attributed it to a bad GFX (since it blew up twice in two different machines and wouldn't even turn on when connected to my old GFX in the new machine).

Now I'm getting some new issues:
1) Monitor refused to turn on one day for fifteen minutes, has not repeated.
2) NetFlix continues to have a black bar across the upper right side of the screen.
3) The PSU starts a constant hissing at night.
4) The PSU loudly hisses/cracks when I flip the PSU Off Switch.
5) The power LED on the top of my case randomly flickers, and sometimes just stays red for periods of ten minutes.

Is it time to replace my PSU?

So then I guess my new question becomes, with the specs I stated, plus three fans, would getting another 1000w be overkill? I don't really trust PSU Calculator sites, and I know my card takes at least 500w.
