Fast Hard Disk Delete

Is it possible to wipe hard drive in few seconds,and can not after recover information?maby some bat file or other metod.
hd can be after not usable,just looking fastest way to delete everything(for example,maby happen situation ,if i dont want to give secret info to some person,who want to steal my laptop and i have 1 minute to destroy everything).Thanks.

SSDs can be securely erased almost instantly by running the ATA secure erase command (supported by most erasure programs). HDDs can be securely erased in the same fashion but the operation will take between 45 minutes and 90 minutes to complete depending on the model of the disk.

Sledgehammer.

Not sure what the full erase time is for an ATA SE on an SSD, but it's fast and unstoppable once started.

looked google about ssd and found :
On a 256GB Kingston SSDNow V+ 100, a Secure Erase can be completed in 2 minutes

Two minutes sounds about right.

The other thing I'd suggest is to keep it encrypted using e.g. truecrypt. That should keep the data quite safe even if you can't wipe it, assuming you don't surrender the key.
