Hi All,

Completed my 1st build Friday, pieced it together, put 8.1 on, inserted the motherboard disk and everything seems to just work straight away, with no messing about (Which was nice).

I don't really know much about bios settings or set up so I could be missing something knowing me :)

According to the task managers performance tab the system seems to be using 10-15% RAM and 5-15% of CPU, with the CPU speed running 1.7 but jumping to 3.7ghz on the odd occasion when working. I would have thought the 8 cores and 16gb would have been used more to give better speed / to kill off tasks etc.

The Spec is below can some one who knows better let me know if this seems right and what they think.

Bitfenix Shinobi case
gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3
AMD 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz
G7 Power Extreme 880w PSU
16GB DDR3 1600mhs Kingston Hyperx blue
Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD
Old DVD drive
GT610 2048 DDR3 (Will do for the moment )

Thanks :)

Sounds OK, is DRAM at 1600? It generally defaults to mobo default of 1333, can check with CPU-Z (free app), in memory tab will show freq as 800 if running to spec at 1600, else 667 if at mobo default of 1333
