Hi all! Been referring to the site for a long time; first time posting.

I think this is the right part of the forum. Let me know if this belongs somewhere else and I'll move it. Thank you : )

I'm building a universal gaming PC. I made a list of the most basic components (figure I'd pick the cage and PSU afterwards). I'm wondering if there's any improvements that can be made.

Budget is between $1100-$1600 (that's including the case, PSU, OS, etc).

I have no interest in overclocking.

ASRock Z87 Extreme6

Intel i5-4670 CPU

Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD

G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GB 240-Pin DDR3

EVGA GeForce 760 4GB GPU

Windows 8 Operating System

I've been looking at sound cards, but it all sounds like gibberish to me. It doesn't need to be anything fancy. I plan on using headphones primarily. Anyone have recommendations? Advice on shopping for sound systems?

Thank you in advance!

Sorry, I meant $1100-1600 for the entire system (case, peripherals, etc), which means I can probably spend a total of $1000-1200 for the innards.

Sorry about the double post. Bare with me, adjusting to the reply system (can you delete posts?)

What's the difference between the 4670 and the 3570?

That's $1100 for everything but case and peripherals

Did some research. The 1155 doesn't offer future upgrade branches like the 1150. Changed the board and CPU to match your recommendations.

Thanks!
