Hello members of Tom's Hardware. My family is in need of a new computer because the laptop I am currently on is starting to get outdated and needs to be replaced. The next computer we are buying (building) will be a desktop. I got talking to my dad and he said that if I chose all the parts then he said we will be able to get them and I can put it together for family use. So, here's the build-

I assume looking at the gpu that games need to be played on this pc...?

Something different that takes up the entire budget but is worth it imo,

Better cpu,
better gpu,
better psu,(for a more limited budget is your pick also good enough)
i would go for the latest o.s.,but that's you're choice.(everything is off course ;) )
the motherboard has one flaw,it doesn't come with sata 3 ports ,just sata 2 ports, which doesn't mean a lot when you only use a normal hdd,but when adding a ssd it will limit its speeds.

I've used Windows 8 before at a friends house and I didn't like it too much. That's why I choose Windows 7. Now, I am not 100% sure on the budget, that's just an estimate. But thanks, I'll take some version of yours if I can afford it!

And yes, my sister and I play games like Minecraft, LoL, GMod, and stuff like that. I've never done anything too high end on a computer since well, the most I've ever owned is the one I'm on right now-

Athlon II X2 P340 2.2 GHZ
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics
250 GB HDD
---------------------------------------------------
So that's why we're looking into a new one.

Like i said it's up to you.I also had to get used to w8,but now that i am i like it better.

For those games a system that probably has an overkill gpu in it.You could play bf3/4 with this on decent settings.
