OK so I recently just bought all these parts and this weekend I will be starting my very first build ever. Here is my parts list.
CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core (Purchased) $100.00
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing (Purchased) $30.00
Motherboard: Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 ATX AM3+ (Purchased) $114.00
Memory: A-Data XPG V2 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 (Purchased) $60.00
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM (Purchased) $50.00
Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7770 2GB (Purchased) $75.00
Wireless Network Adapter: Asus PCE-N15 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 (Purchased) $27.50
Case: Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus (Black) ATX Mid Tower (Purchased) $0.00
Power Supply: Corsair 750W ATX12V (Purchased) $60.00
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHDS118-04 DVD/CD Drive (Purchased) $13.00
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) (Purchased) $0.00
Total: $529.50

I wanted my first build to be more of a budget build so I don't lose my ass if I mess up, also I wanted something I could easily upgrade with. Hence the lower end GPU.

Ok so back to my question, about how long should my first build take and where should I start with it? Should I build in the case first or out of the case then mount all of it. Iv looked at a few youtube videos on builds but alot of them are crazy boring and the guys are so monotone it isnt funny.

I cannot predict how long it will take you to build it, some first timers take sub 1 hour while others take the best part of 6 hours.
Personally I built it outside the case first to test if it worked and then put the mobo in the case with the stuff on it as it is not that much of a hassle and saves you the bother of taking it out of the case if you have a defective part.
I used this video if it helps:
