currently have a e7300 2.66ghz core 2 duo running in a pc, was given a free e6700 pentium dual core 3.2ghz. was wondering which one is better? is the 3.2ghz much faster? core 2 duo has 3mb L2 cache vs the pentium dual core 2mb L2 cache. i know the e6700 supports virtualization while the e7300 doesn't.

It's a clear victory for the E6700.

1. Both processors are dual-core.
2. The E7300 has a much slower clock speed.
3. The E7300 is two years older than the E6700.
4. Both processors have the same TDP, so emit the same heat and consume the same amount of energy.

The fact that the E6700 is free seals the deal.

Thanks for the reply, didn't know if the L2 cache size played any differences as the e6700 had 1mb less L2 cache than the e7300. time to swap out the CPUs!
