Hello all,

First off this is my first build and I plan on only using it for gaming so any feed back would be greatly appreciated! Second I would like to lower the over all cost and am wondering where I could do that with out sacrificing too much performance. Thanks!

for starters its probably easier to list it in this manner since we can comment on each item rather easy:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($229.98 @ OutletPC)
-do you need to overclock? if yes keep this, if not go with a non k cpu.
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($30.98 @ Newegg)
-you could get a cheaper cpu cooler (such as a hyper 212 plus or other 120mm fan cooler which are even cheaper than the coolermaster ones)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Microcenter)
-if going with a k cpu for overclocking keep this, if not you can use a h87.
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($85.99 @ Newegg)
you can get 1866mhz 2x4gb cas9 gskill ripjaws from newegg for as cheap as $72 if you watch the rebate codes
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($89.99 @ Amazon)
good
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($57.99 @ NCIX US)
fine
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($359.99 @ Amazon)
the asus version is about $330 and is a good choice.
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (Red) ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.99 @ Newegg)
you could go with a different case. the phantom cases have both good and bad points. i'd recommend looking at the corsair cases (like the 750d) or perhaps ones from fractale also...but your choice)
Power Supply: XFX 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($115.43 @ Amazon)
there are a few power supplies cheaper which could work (corsair hx650 or the seasonic 620 for example) and if you wait for a good sale to come acround i've seen a psu similar to the one you picked out here for a good $30 cheaper or more.
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($19.98 @ OutletPC)
cheaper models are available
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit) ($97.98 @ OutletPC)
if you went with windows 7 i've seen it go for $80-85 on ebay for legitimate copies
Total: $1308.29
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
