Hey guys,

I'm looking to put together a new rig but have been out of the hardware scene for awhile so I thought I'd run it past you guys for any advice.

It'll be used for gaming predominately.

From my old PC I'll salvage:
Gigabyte Aurora
Corsair HX650
Dell SP2309w 2048X1152

As to the new componenets I was thinking of:

I don't think I'll be overclocking this rig at any point.

I'm upgrading from an E6600 Core 2 Duo and a ATI HD5850 system.

My main questions are:
1) Is that GPU a decent upgrade to the HD5850 or should I go for a GTX 760?
2) Is the RAM appropriate? I can't remember how CAS timings work anymore.
3) Any general advice?

The RAM is just fine, CAS9 at 1600 and 1.5v is perfect for gaming. Definitely want a 760 at that budget. You don't need a Z87 motherboard though if you're not overclocking. This will be a great upgrade from your old system :) I have the 4670k and 760 and get Ultra/Max in almost everything :)

Thanks for the advice.

I hadn't noticed the distinction between H87 and Z87 motherboards, so thanks for saving me a few quid there.
