I'm trying to build, but I'm a 13 year old and am tight on money. Is there anyone out there who can build me a PC for COD, Need For Speed, and Minecraft. And if there is anyone, can you ship it to me for a fair price? Or am I out of my head?

More about : build gaming ship fair price

To start,
Where are you?
How much do you have to spend on this?

Getting someone else to build it may add another $100 to the price.

For the best price I would recommend building your own. You will get exactly what you want at the price you want with no extra charges or cost. Its not as difficult as it looks. There are plenty of video guides for building online if you need them. First and most important is you need to set a budget then you can determine what parts to pick. The most cost goes into the GPU (graphics card) in a gaming machine (a decent mid range card will hit a 3 figure number) but you wont need anything to expensive to play the games you listed, second largest cost is the CPU followed by the monitor. You can use a low cost motherboard if you don't plan on overclocking or you are not bothered about extra features. I built a rig (UK prices) for around £275. It plays all games on med settings and some games on high (1920x1080 resolution).

You would be better off saving money for either a desktop or a laptop. $100 is the cost of windows 7/8 alone, not to mention a monitor, keyboard, mouse that nobody ever likes to include in the total costs of pc builds anymore.

Actually, if you really don't have that much money, you might be better off with a console honestly. I never had money for a pc till my 20s to build a good one.

You might luck out on craigslist and find somebody selling a used Core 2 Duo/Quad system cheap and you add a GPU to it

to put it the nicest way I can, you're going to need alot more money to say the least. People consider a pc build bottom of the barrel usually with a 400 budget or 500.

Celeron 1155 cpu- $40
gpu (depends what you want...you aren't going to max anything out on a budget..but..for the money hd 6670 or hd 7750 is good) $70-$100
motherboard ~$50
4gb ram $~$40
500gb hdd - $50
case -Cheap Rosewill,etc -$30-40
psu- corsair builder 430w- $40
OS- windows 7/8- $100
monitor/keyboard/mouse

off the top of my head that's a barebones budget system...for more..here's a build I recently showed to a friend,

cpu-fx 6300 6 core 4.1ghz cpu- $120
gpu-gtx 750ti- $150
ram-8gb kingston $65
mobo- asus m5a97 r2.0 970 - $95
HDD- 1tb western digital blue 7200rpm -$60
Power supply- corsair builder 430w -$40
Case- $50
Operating System - $100
1080P monitor- $120

your best bet with only $100 is to find one on your local craigslist. Ive gotten some pretty insane deals from there including an i7 2700k with a 660ti for only $75. It was worth minimum $500 with the case and all. Just make sure you have your parents involved as there are MANY shady people out there.

There was a guy here selling an old $50 dollar core 2 duo system,but...I don't even know how good that thing would play stuff on 720p on low..., it's ancient, had old 8400gs gpu in it.

I have a core 2 quad sitting in my closet with windows XP on it but the cost to ship it would be way too much. Check craigslist for used pc's is the best you're going to get really.

If all you have is $100 total, you need to save up some more. You can't get a reasonably current spec PC for that. $100 = 1 part. RAM, or hard drive, or OS, or monitor....

well i mean you still have to pay for the parts more than likely, unless you just find someone extremely generous. 100 really just isnt enough to get it all bought if you're buying new

Your budget is $900, only when you actually have $900 in hand.
Save up however much you can, and then design the best PC you can within that budget.

I was 15 years old when I first bought my computer. I was not that much older than you and at the time it was state-of-the-art for me, but by no means was it the best the market had. A k6-2 amd cpu, and a voodoo2 creative labs gpu card were the core parts for those who want to reminisce with me. I built the parts on a online website to figure the cost (about $1000), then saved every penny I could and even got a part time job at a local pizza place to hang fliers. It took me about 4 months to save up the money and when I went to my parents to purchase it for me with their credit card you could imagine their surprise when I actually presented every dollar and cent.

Your a little under age to actually be considered for any jobs by an employer but if you look hard enough, you will find something that provides income. Even if its a one time deal like mowing lawns, cleaning sidewalks, shoveling snow in the winter. Saving those $$$ will add up. The more incentive you have to want a computer the harder you will try to earn money, and even make money.

I'm now a 32 year man old and still am the same enthusiast about pc's and gaming (if not bigger since I make more money now than I did when I was 15). Keep at it little man and one day you will tell your story to some teenager on the internet when you are a man who earned his expensive toys.

Go to the Dell Outlet (http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/22/campaigns/outlet) and look through there. The price is cheaper than one can be built for and it comes with a good warranty. I have built 100's of PCs over the years and I finally gave up on it because it is cheaper and easier to send clients to the Dell outlet instead. You should be able to find a somewhat decent starter gaming PC around $750 (give or take) with a decent warranty. You just have to be persistent. You will need to go to the site a few times a day until you find the one you want. Take some time to look over the PCs. They change the listing of available PCs constantly. So if you don't see something you like at say 10 am you may find exactly what you want at 2 pm. Or if you see what you want at 10 am and it is already taken (which does happen on occasion) then just come back later. Sometimes it will take a week or so to find the exact one you want. :)

Hope this helps you.

if it's any better the 8800gt makes it a much sweeter deal :p  . I think the kid here would actually be served well by getting your old pc, not sure how much shipping would be. Then he could save up for like a 750ti. Then again I just like to tinker with stuff...I know some people don't like to mess with pc's like that upgrading part by part and would just want the whole thing at once, but....I know when I was 13 I would of been happy to get a pc that cheap lol.

Yes, that 8800GT is an old card too, but it is a good one. I had some people interested but they backed out because shipping it across the US was about $50. It weighs 25 pounds.

As a surgeon once said to me, "When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail!" People here (including me), like to build stuff. BUT, do this:

Seriously:

Go to Walmart.com. Go to the bottom of the page, and click on See all Departments.
On that page, in the second column, click on Clearance. NOT Electronics-just Clearance.

There you will find computers cheap. Some will be Win8 machines that just need to be upgraded (free) to 8.1, but are discounted accordingly. They may be AMD rather than Intel, but that may not be a bad thing for a game machine. If you pick one, check with the people here to make sure it will run the programs you want. Read the descriptions CAREFULLY.

It looks like you can get a 24" TV for $150, which should work as a game monitor just fine. Again, check with those more in the know before buying.

This keeps you away from the dangers of Craigslist, and gets you "older" technology at a USED price for NEW equipment with a NEW warranty and a legal, upgradeable manufacturer supported OS. Do not discount the value of that last item.

Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

I'd be happy to help you out, but you're going to need more than $100 on you to buy it, as people are going to want the cost of parts before they ship it out to you. Save up some money, let us all know how much you have to spend on it when you actually have the money, and then get somebody to build it for you. Nobody is going to buy the parts, build the computer, and never get paid for it and have a computer sitting there being useless. I usually charge $150, but I could do $100.

I'm the kind of person that would do it for free, and you just pay for the parts, because I like building PCs. But the thing is there are risks. As mentioned above, no one will want to cover the cost of the parts for you. As I see it, I would do it if you ordered the parts online but had them shipped to my house instead of yours.

Shipping a PC seems risky though. I have heard of heavy heatsinks shattering motherboards, etc.

Well if Bojangle12 will build it for free, he's your new best friend. When shipping computers, you generally want to brace the heatsink. I've seen this done with rubber bands before in a case with a bunch of holes/slots in it. You can also get a closed loop cooler that will ship easily because it doesn't put pressure on the motherboard.

I was thinking of just shipping it without the heatsink installed, and just putting some good instructions in with it.
