Hi,
my last build was in 2005 and the cases had the USB Front Panel. I built with a Lian Li full tower case: PC-7077A.
I'm back in the market for a new build. In looking for cases & components at present, I find the USB panel relocated to the top of the case.
I use the Front Panel for my camera, thumb-drive's, GPS, and I thought that was a very convenient place. With those items being plugged in & out, that was the best location...or so I thought for a very long time.
Being out of the 'build market' for quite some time, I am curious to find out some reasons for this relocation.
I'm also interested in any help finding new but similar cases such as the PC-7077A, mostly for the USB Front Panel along with some open drive bays.

Any insight, ideas, links, would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kozzy72

It's just a design and user-convenience feature - no more than that. My 6-month old case has usb ports at the bottom of the front panel and my supplier has new stock which also have them at the front (top or bottom. top is more convenient). You should be able to find such cases no problem, especially online.

Thanks for the feedback Phillip. In thinking about why the panel would be more convenient at the top for users, those chassis's would have to be sitting on the floor.
