Hello. I am planning to build my first gaming pc, and I need to now what the best gpu in my price range is. 600$ is a heavy stretch, but I could eventually do it. My goal is about 400$. I am wiling to pay more, but only if the performance increase is drastic. Mind you, even a 400$ gpu would require a couple of months of saving. Thoughts?

Is a GTX 780 a major improvement over say a GTX 760? Because I could probably manage to get 2 760s and SLI them.

But then yoy are capped for performance later on. Yoy would be stuck with 2 760's. The 780 performs noticeably faster especially if you overclock and you could always sli that card when prices come down. 780 sli would net a huge gain over 760 sli

Yes a single 780 is far stronger than a single 760. but it also depends what resolution you would be playing at. For 1080p the 760 is a great choice while the 780 is a bit overkill. And two 760s will out perform a single 780 and even the OG Titan :) and be way cheaper of course. I would also recommend the 2gb version if playing at 1080p.

However 2 780's will net you better performance in the future than 2 760's will. Also if you plan on playing above 60fps if you get a 120 or 144hz monitor then the 780 would be a better single card and give you more possibilities for expansion in the future.
