Motherboard/power supply compatibility

I'm trying to determine if I'll be able to use my Gateway Newton ATX 250 Watt power supply to power my Asus FM2 Motherboard with an AMD A-series 4.1Ghz dual-core processor. Would the Newton be sufficient?

If the PSU has a 24 pin MB connector and not an older 20 pin, yes. The 20 pin may work, but I wouldn't advise it. The heavy loads on the PSU will be the graphic card (if you buy a discrete card) and the PSU. But just for the MB and any APU you use, it will be sufficient.

That's close but the output is 250W max on mine. I talked to TigerDirect who I ordered the motherboard and processor from and they said it should be fine as long as the motherboard fits in my computer casing which from what I can tell it should.

Well the motherboard has built in sound and video so that should help. I think I'm just going to use a 20 pin to 24 pin adaptor so I know that everything will connect and hope for the best.

If you're going to use the on-die GPU of the APU, you will be fine with that existing PSU.
