I just built two new systems for me and my nephew with an i5-4670K and EVGA GTX770.

I currently have a IPS 1920x1080 monitor and he is running an older LED 1680x1050 monitor.

Of course mine looks much crisper and brighter (probably due to the IPS).

Is it worth the upgrade to get him a new 1920x1080? I understand the framerate hit but I'm hoping the GTX770 can still get good performance at that resolution.

The GTX 770 will perform very well at 1920 X 1080 resolution. If you can afford the upgrade to the new monitor then you should definitely do it, that is a very capable machine.

1920×1080=2073600 pixels and 1680×1050
=1764000 pixels. A quarter million more pixels for 1080p which is a big gap.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll go with the upgrade to 1920x1080. These are 23" monitors but I can see the difference between the two.

There is 10 percent performance difference between the two.
