USB 2.0 devices in USB 3.0 port

if I keep reading from and writing to my USB 2.0 device that's plugged to USB 3.0 port (since my dream casing only has one front USB port and that's 3.0) , will it cause one of them of both to break in the long run? thanks

  1. USB 2.0 device works fine in 3.0 :)

    Backwards compatible.
  2. yes, i know they are backward compatible. but, will it wear either of them out in the long run (intensive use for read and write). thanks
  3. no no no.

Using a 2.0 device in 3.0 does limit the port to 2.0 speed though but the 2.0 device will work fine with no damage!
