I'm going to get a new gpu real soon and I need help picking one . I was thinking of getting the 270x but I've read in a post that it's really not worth it , that people should just get a 280x . The only problem is that in every review so far people complain about the 280x having artifacts and it costs 100$ more . What I want to know is if the 270x ,paired with a 6300 FX , 6GB of RAM (might upgrade to 8) ,will be able to run games at 1080p ? I'm talking about high end games like bf4 . I would like a smooth 50+ fps . I know the gpu won't run it on ultra but will it at least run it on 60fps with AA off and high settings ?

Go with the Gigabyte 760 4gb. It will blow most AMD cards out of the water in terms of performance. The only thing AMD cards are better at is mining (or in tech terms, parallel processing). The card is $300, giving you amazing performance for your money.

I built 4 pcs in last month for friends and 3 of them were all amd builds (cpu, gpu), and for the price the r9 270x is a great GPU. It'll ultra everything at 1080p 50fps and up. Just get AM cooler because they tend to run hot. BUT the 760 is also another solid choice, at 1080 you dont NEED 4gb of vram 2 is pretty much standard for 1080... newegg has this 760 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) and I would get that over the r9 270x for the amazing price. Plus evga warranty is amazing and the ACX cooler is in top 2 out.

Sorry reason I meantion I did those build was because two of them have r9 270x's in them and they work very well at 1080p but the link i posted to evga 760 the price is too good to choose r9 270x over the 760
