Motherboard: Z87 MSI G45
GPU: MSI GTX 760
Monitor input: PC (VGA?)

So when I plug my GPU into the PCI E port and turn on, my screen comes up black and the turns off and flickers black and off and on again. But when I take out my GPU completely, it displays fine? Why is this and of course, how do I fix it.

Thanks!

Have you changed the start up display in your bios to PCIE slot?
Have you connected the Power Connectors (8-pin or 6-pin or both) to your Graphics card ?

Am sure someone else can come up with something else if you done these two options.

Have not changed the start up display no. How do I do this?

Also I have the power connecter plugged into the PSU and then 2 six pin connecters both plugged into the GPU for a total of 12 pins. Is this right? Each have 2 pins hanging off them as well. PSU: Corsair Cx 750m

To change the display you have to go into the Bios at Post.
I've just had a look at MSI 760 cards and three of them said they was 1x6 pin and 1x 8Pin, so maybe you should check again and to make sure you do only have 2x6 pin power points for your card.

Ok thanks!

And yes I have 2 six pin connectors on my GPU and then 2 six pin plugs with a 2 pin cable hanging off each one for an option of either 6 or combined to make 8 pin. I'm guessing I just use the 6 pin ones and leave the 2 two pin plugs hanging?

For reference, this is the exact card I'm using: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00DMUN4JO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1395525128&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX110_SY165

This. The BIOS key is usually F1/F2 depending on your mobo.
