So my old home theater/media center PC died after many years yesterday and I've been looking to get a new one. Here's what I've come up with so far...

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=30017787

- External DVD drive only for those rare occasions I watch a DVD

- Torn between ditching the Lian Li case (I'm a big fan of Lian Li cases but it is very expensive) and getting something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811154091. I don't like the way the MB sits under the PS in that case but if I went with something like that I could nix the external DVD (have old 5.25" internal one) and the 1TB 2.5" HD (have old 3.5" one) which would significantly reduce my cost.

Thoughts/advice?

Dvds are things of the past, in fact more and more friends that come to watch movies bring their External HDD instead of bringing a DVD, they even bring usb sticks sometimes, i would go with the Lian Li Case. They have a good brand psu and apex psus are known to fail in the first year.

For good cooling and low noise I chose the silverstone GD 05 for my htpc . It helped I wanted to add a tv card

DVD/Blu-ray is still relevant to me . It just seems messy to use an external drive though .

The RED hard drive is for a NAS . Use a WD GREEN for low noise and fast enough storage speeds
