First off, I like the idea. It's a great concept because sometimes there's not one single solution for the OP to choose. There could be many. This allows for the community to UP vote posts that help.

The only thing is, I wish it would be at the bottom of the post or integrated with the area where the avatar is. Yes it's easier to read on the left. However because of the new layout, there's this giant area of wasted space beside the avatars on every post.

I'm being picky, I know. Just a thought.

Also, if a post get's too many down votes, will the post be hidden? Just curious.

Try changing your window width slightly. Myself and other Mods have been discussing this, and it apparently depends on windows width. A little more or a little less will change it.

That's odd. It worked. There appears to be width that determines where the message of a post is position.

You've found the dynamic resize for varying resolutions. :)  Tom's will display on pretty much everything from a tiny phone screen to a gigantic monitor. If you resize your browser, you are apt to see slightly different presentations.

The voting system will hopefully help us identify thread responses and commentary that is of higher (and lower) quality. We may end up developing some filtering or highlighting in response to this, too.

Yeah, this is a pain - at least because I'm not used to it. It's distracting, and kind of annoying.

Also, what happens when this is used to troll? Or when well-meaning misinformation gets upvoted and is seen as "more important" than the post correcting its mistakes?

(As for the dynamic resize, it sucks on mobile browsers - you don't get anything but a list. I have mine set to always show the desktop site for Tom's, and use zoom features to get where I want.)

Thumbs up thumbs down like in the news/article comments would be simpler.

I've had to set my window to a certain size just so everything lines up correctly. It's odd.
