I currently have a Win8/Ubuntu dual boot setup, should I add in SteamOS? I dont really play linux games much (or ever) but 90% of the PC games i play are Steam games. So is there any benefit to installing SteamOS over just using the Steam program on Windows?

More about : triple boot

Check if the games you play are Linux supported. Unless you find most of them are compatible with Linux and working with AMD, it's better not try it. Use program instead, for now.

How many hard drives do you have, if you have more than 1, I recommend triple-booting. If not, what do you use Ubuntu for? If it's programming, you can just use an 8GB Ubuntu Live USB.

steamos is just big picture mode over a very lightweight desktop environment running on debian. since ubuntu is debian based steamos can be added to ubuntu as an extra desktop environment can't remember where the guide is to do it though the games installed on steam on ubuntu would carry over to the steamOS DE version. it pretty much the same thing only easier to switch between just make sure you set you ubuntu not login automatically because that can make it hard to leave steamos last i checked
