Hello everybody, today I have a question that's really been making me not so sure about what I should do. I've been looking at whether or not I should get an Origin PC (Chronos) or custom build my own. I do enjoy Origin's service and how they preinstall everything, but at the same time it might be too costly. Any opinions?

The advantage of building your own is if you're buying high-quality components, you get 3-7+ years of warranty on most parts. You don't have to compromise on any parts in the build. You get exactly what you want.

On the other hand, most builders can offer a build equivalent to that which you might build with the same exact parts for hundreds less for the intro model, but if you choose an upgraded GPU, PSU, disk or RAM you usually end up paying more than you could if you built it yourself. The real stopper for me with something like Origin PC is they only offer a 1-year warranty as their standard (I do like the lifetime labor though but you can guarantee you get to pay for the shipping!). That sucks.

Personally, I like to build my own because I get exactly the components I want.

Hi there,
Unless you feel like there is something that specifically stands out from Origin to you I would highly recommend building your own PC.
Short and sweet; you have an endless variety on parts you want and 99% of the time Origin is far more expensive.
Hope this helped.
