Hi. So today I bought myself a new mobo because my old one got fried. (had an Asus H87 Plus and bought a Gigabyte GA-Z87-DS3H). I built my system on the new mobo and gave it a try but GPU fan started working all out 100% making very loud noise and I got no display at all. However I could still hear one beep which means that system POSTed successfully. I can even blind type my password and then hear Windows starting up which is definitely weird. GPU (Palit GeForce GTX 760) worked fine with my previous mobo.
Things I tried:
- Plugged monitor cable into mobo; everything works perfectly, I get display.
- As many have suggested, checked whether GPU was fully inserted into PCIe slot and whether the two 6 pin power connectors were plugged.
- Took out the battery for a couple of minutes in order to reset BIOS to no avail.
- Disabled integrated graphics in BIOS and then tried to put back my GPU. Same thing.
- Installed chipset drivers from disk that shipped with the motherboard. Still, nothing.
- Default display source in BIOS is set to the PCIe slot.
Faulty GPU? I don't know, it's only 5 months old and it worked fine with the same PSU and RAM I'm using now on this new mobo. Any other suggestions besides trying out the GPU on another system?
