After much research (mostly on these forums), I have settled on several key components for a mid-range gaming PC build. However, I'm looking for suggestions on a motherboard, power supply and graphics card.

So far I'm planning on getting:

Core i5 4670K
Hyper 212 Evo
Samsung 840 Evo 240gb SSD
WD Blue 500gb
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series (2x4gb)

GRAPHICS CARD:
If I could afford it: GTX 770
Now considering: Gigabyte GTX 760 2gb

I was originally looking at the GTX 770, but since I want to keep the total cost closer to $1,000 I unfortunately have to go with something cheaper. Now I'm leaning towards the Gigabyte GTX 760 2gb, which comes in at the mid-$200s range. Solid card or are there any better options near that price point?

MOTHERBOARD:
Now considering: MSI Z87-G45

All I really need is something solid and reliable. I don't plan on overclocking much, if at all. I do need optical audio out. The MSI board mentioned above seems to be a popular board on some other sites, and it's at a somewhat decent price point.

PSU:
Some calculators tell me I need at least a 450W psu, while others tell me 650w minimum. I do want something reliable and don't mind spending a few extra dollars here, especially since I've been unlucky enough to have 2 psu failures in the past. However, any cost shavings are definitely helpful and there aren't many other components I'm willing to compromise on.

Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Help me finish my build! Thanks in advance.

A 500w PSU would be plenty for your entire system, even when overclocked, but this 620 is just at a great price lol Moving some stuff around, you can get the 770 in there easily :)  A 120GB SSD is plenty for OS, programs, a few games, and the WD Black is really fast for the rest, and saves some money.

More about the PSU, SeaSonic is top-quality, and has a 5 year warranty. I definitely wouldn't worry about this one :)

Thanks for taking the time to reply HiTech. The good news is, I already have a case and combo drive, so those are not part of my $1000 - $1100 budget. I'm researching the parts you recommended right now.

Well that's awesome :)  I would upgrade the cooling and motherboard then a little. The MSI Z87 Gaming motherboard is a great motherboard; good combination of price/quality. I would also get a bit better CPU cooler as well:

I just sat down to pull the trigger on that SeaSonic but it's now OOS. Wish I had a chance earlier. Doh!
