He is nothing but a big loudmouth .The people who believe this moron are moronic themselves.

To be fair he is a very charismatic person. However, you are right and for the most part he never has any idea what he is talking about.

He is an empty barrel period.

Quote:
“On and after April 15, Beck broadcast repeated statements distributed and published to others…identifying Alharbi as an active participant in the crimes that were committed in Boston,”
Quote:
Beck’s claims were based on initial news reports that surfaced almost immediately after the bombings last year. As reports poured in, and media outlets grasped at whatever leads they deemed viable or suspicious in nature, Alharbi’s name began to circulate.
Quote:
This isn’t the first example of a lawsuit filed by people wrongly accused of being the alleged Marathon bombing suspects. Two Boston-area men who had bags on their backs were splashed on the front cover of the New York Post as the investigation and search for the bombers continued. Those men, labeled by the Post as “Bag Men,” sued the newspaper for libel.
Just so I understand this, many other news outlets were broadcasting Alharbi's name as a bombing suspect, then Glen Beck simply re-reports what those other news outlets had already reported, and he's getting sued for defamation?

Can you say "witch hunt" and "Glen Beck has deep pockets"?

Interesting that you chose to post this simply because Glen Beck is getting sued with no other previous posts regarding the NY Post also getting sued for libel for doing the exact same thing that Glen Beck did. Or maybe this is just your little jab at Glen Beck and a means to defame conservatives.
April 2, 2014 2:10:44 PM

Witch hunt? Who are you kidding chunky just listen to this guy talk.

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/i-dont-bluff-i-ma...

He went much farther than Alharbi's name, he went completely schizo. By the way he was a suspect at first and then was cleared but Beck doesn't care about that kind of stuff, he only cares about manipulating people into believing him. Glenn beck went much farther with this BS than other networks and he will pay for lying.

Its most certainly a jab at Glenn Beck. As for other conservatives, maybe you should quit viewing the world as black and white. Or in this case, red and blue.

Life is not black/white or red/blue and not everything can be debated by presenting a false dilemma argument as you like to do johnsonma. What you think of Glen Beck's commentary and how you judge his mental state is irrelevant. I give you credit though for wearing your man-pants and admitting to taking a cheap jab.

As they say, popularity breeds contempt. Regardless of what he said or how long he argued Alharbi was a suspect, the fact remains that Glen Beck a popular figure and an easy target. My guess is Alharbi found a good lawyer and both are looking for a payday. I bet dollars to donuts that Glen Beck will not be prosecuted for defamation and Alharbi and his lawyer will settle for the first large amount of cash they are offered. So, yes, I call this a with hunt.

And, if this lawsuit were filed against Rachel Maddow, Thom Hartman, or Bill Maher, I would still call it a witch hunt.
April 3, 2014 8:11:33 AM

Glenn Beck is absolutely responsible for his negligent actions. But because he is a conservative you view him in a biased light. In that way the world is red/blue to you. Its the same reason you always have to use the world liberal or progressive or conservative.

He said this event was bigger than 9/11 and this guy was the money man. Basically put his life in danger and that of anyone he knew when he had no evidence. No evidence for this kind of talk is a crime, sorry to tell you but he will have to face the consequences.

It was a left jab, not a cheap shot. He deserves to be criticized for his actions in this case because of his irresponsibility. I don't want Rachel Maddow and I have no idea who Thom Hartman is. I don't remember Bill Maher saying anything about this but maybe.

Did you ever stop to think that my responses might be slanted conservative because your liberal bias is painfully obvious. That it's either your opinion or nihilism? And that your continued false dilemma arguments deserve retort?

You are free to criticize Beck all you want, I don't care. If Beck is negligent, the court will decide, our opinions on about possible defamation are irrelevant. What you or I think about Glen Beck's broadcast style is irrelevant.

Lastly, if you had bothered to really read and comprehend my posts, I did not/am not defending Glen Beck but was critical of the lawsuit and called you out for creating this thread only because it was about Glen Beck getting sued.
April 3, 2014 3:20:41 PM

If you can't have a discussion about my post and instead have to continually turn the post towards me maybe you shouldn't post at all? I've posted many threads about many different things, if I want to post one about a conservative I will.

Your just going to have to get over that.

I comprehended your posts just fine by the way. You said he is only being targeted because he is a famous conservative. I said he is being targeted because he maliciously broke the law in one of his self induced conspiracies. I doubt it makes it to court, if Beck's lawyers were smart there will be a settlement before it gets there. Don't want people thinking Glenn Beck is a nut job or something.

We are defaming beck not Coservatives .He is moron period!
April 3, 2014 11:57:19 PM

I love Beck ... we need people like him.

Without Beck's absurd conservative points it would be difficult to rationalise moderate views, and also see how absurd some of the extreme leftist views are equally crazy.

Beck is therefore important.

I'm not entirely convinced that you do comprehend my posts, and if you do, you willingly ignore the obvious and substitute your own talking point. Truly though, in this thread, you are the one hung up on the Beck being a conservative. Please quote any of my previous posts in this thread where I state Beck is the target of the defamation lawsuit for being conservative. You seem bound and determined to link Beck being a conservative with the reason for being guilty of defamation. His political views are irrelevant in determining whether he is guilty of defamation.

Your posts don't exactly present any complex ideas, its not hard to comprehend them. I merely reputed your points by pointing out what he said and how he broke the law and how that is why he is being sued. Not because of some witchhunt.
April 4, 2014 9:51:06 AM

This thread reminds me of why I very rarely check back here.

Liberal person does something he speaks for all liberal people, Beck says something and whoa now everything isnt so black and white, he can express his opinion any way he wants, hes just a popular punching bag and it has nothing to do with what he actually says just the fact that he has deep pockets.

Im surprised no one has posted the transcript. His co-host asks him if he is speculating or if he has any evidence, Beck ignores the question.

Well, yes, so what ?
I don't know how it works in US, but here, any "journalist" HAS TO check informations.
He is responsible of what he said. That's very normal, in my opinion.

Mingo, i'm glad to see you here, mate !
April 5, 2014 3:04:15 AM

Yes we need more mingo ... otherwise its like hotdogs without mustard sauce ... bacon without egg ...

Chunky has to do double duty now oldmangamer73 has left ... so I have decided to switch sides and become pro-conservative.

I may struggle a little so ease up on me you commy losers !!

That makes no sense to me...

"we need more mingo, otherwise it's like a grouper without bicycle."
April 5, 2014 4:04:01 AM

Well ok ... no mingo is like a grouper without a bycycle then you crazy Frenchman !!

... or a bycyle with no seat?

... or a grouper out of water?

:)
April 5, 2014 4:54:10 AM

it's as crazy as "bacon without eggs" !

what's the problem with bacon without eggs ? or hotdog without mustard ??? not a big deal !

but try some cheese without red wine, or foie gras without fleur de sel: THAT is sick.
April 5, 2014 7:43:18 AM

I like good pate on toast ... but with Brown Brothers Port ...

Never put sea salt on top of it.

Its Heart attack material already!!

April 5, 2014 8:07:06 AM

"Good pate" ???
ok that's a casus belli.

I'm pretty sure you already tried to put some pickles on it.

Afraid about heart attack while bacon-eggs and hotdog-mustards are sooooo healthy ... you conservative Reyneck.
April 5, 2014 9:09:33 AM

Aah américain mettrait cornichons sur la bonne pate ... oui?

Mais je suis Australien.

Translate please into English.

April 7, 2014 1:06:57 AM

He said US people could put some pickles on fois gras.
But he is australian.

Je sais, Rey. Mais personne en France n'appelle ça "le bon pâté" !! ^^ c'est un sacrilège !
April 7, 2014 3:40:48 AM

telle est la vie ...

Here at the supermarket you can also buy a "mini-roast" cooked and in a sealed plastic pouch ... they are good to have on the weekend in hot sandwiches... but the mere shadow of a real roast cooked in the oven ...

I don't often eat out at cultured restaurants ... unless you include Tony Roma ?? Hmmm ... ribs !!

Mais ça va avec mayonnaise.

April 18, 2014 4:10:41 AM

AAAAAAHHHHH !!! NOOOON !!

(d'ailleurs, je suis sûr que votre "mayonnaise" est dégueulasse)

You're all crazy freaks.

April 18, 2014 5:09:50 AM

I must confess, no sign of paté here in central DR Congo with or without mayo unless you wish to send me some? Pity the post office doesn't work but if you find yourself here for some reason...

As to Beck, he became a totally irrelevant nutcase over his reaction to the Coke super bowl commercial. Before that he was just an asinine nutcase. Seriously, he doesn't want people singing America the beautiful in foreign languages? He'd prefer they sing America the ugly? Or better still in his world Death to America!? IT'S A COMPLIMENT YOU IDIOT!
April 18, 2014 6:24:10 AM

I just can't wait till he stands up at the whiteboard like a teacher ... and maybe starts comparing Mother Theresa to Adof Hitler ... he has pretty much compared everything else to Hitler.

Then there is his obsession with FEMA camps.

I wonder how many people realise everything he does for shock value makes more money for him?

I actually wonder if he isn't just putting it all on ... that would be ther irony of Beck for sure.

gropouce ... my wife was in Paris for the last three days ... she loved it.

If she loved Paris she'd go nuts here! Unfortunately Beck nuts not wildly happy nuts. According to Wikipedia I live in the world's largest city without running water and electricity. Population 1.2 million. We may lose that distinction next year, hydro plant being built. But until we see the light...
April 21, 2014 5:27:59 AM

I'm glad to see this digress into discussions about pate, grouper, egss without bacon, etc...as it just shows how ridiculous the thread topic is...no offense to stillblue, gropouce, reynod, I've actually enjoyed the cultural exchange.
April 22, 2014 6:52:46 AM

Chunky Its News and Leisure ... plus we mixed it up as a form of comic relief ... relief from the Beck bashing.
