Hey everyone, I'm new to the whole gaming desktop scene, but i love my games and i have some money and i was wondering what you guys thought of this build and if you think it's worth the price. i looked at pcpartpicker.com and everything is supposedly compatible. I will be using it just for single monitor gaming @ 1080p, and am hoping it'll last me a few years. Thanks guys and girls!:

Intel Core™ i5-4670 Processor, 3.40GHz w/ 6MB Cache ($244.99)

ARCTIC SILVER Arctic Silver 5 High Density Silver Thermal Compound, 3.5g ($9.99)

Asus H87M-E w/ Dual DDR3 1600, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, HDMI, DVI, D-Sub ($109.99)

Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA III w/ 64MB Cache ($69.99)

Antec Three Hundred Two Case ($79.99)

Liteon iHAS124 24X DVD-Writer, SATA, Black, OEM ($19.99)

Corsair CX Series CX750M Modular Power Supply ($109.99)

Cooler Master GeminII M4 CPU Cooler ($34.99)

G.SKILL RipjawsX Series 8GB PC3-12800 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 4GB) ($89.99)

MSI N770 GAMING GeForce GTX 770 2GB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort ($394.99)

all for the price of $1,304.69 (CAD)

also, do you think i should spend the extra couple hundred and get the GTX 780 3Gb?

thanks for all your help.

Well pcpartpicker finds and displays the cheapest price for each product that is available amongst the most popular websites. So NO you are not getting ripped off you are just building a monster :) Regarding the GPU it is really up to you and what you want to play. The 780 is obviously better than the 770 but nevertheless the 770 is a powerful piece of machinery that will easily handle every game. It really depends upon your needs, the games you play and how demanding you are from your gaming performance. If your budget allows you to go for a 780 then go for it. Just to give you a personal recommendation on the 780, go for the MSI OC edition it is probably the best price-performance ratio 780. It one of the coolest and less noisy 780s in the market.

Dont buy arctic silver thermal paste . Its not even as good as the stock intel paste so its a complete waste of money .

The cpu and motherboard are good items . But they dont let you overclock . Thats not a major issue snce the cpu will not be limiting the system anyway . Also not an issue is that the mb is a micro ATX board . It has fewer expansion slots than an ATX board but fits the case .
A longer board with better heatsinks wont cost much more anyway so consider

The gemini cpu cooler is for home theater units . Its hard to better the CM Hyper 212 for a more performance computer

You need a 600 watt psu

thanks for the quick replies guys. so it seems im paying about a normal price for it, just having a hard time deciding on the 780 or the 770, do you think the 770 will last 3+ years on higher settings?

Well as I said it really depends on the games you play. Don't forget that the 770 has been out for a year.
