Hello, i've got an MSI GE60 2OC 250RU,
it came with an i5-4200m and nvidia geforce 750m 2gb ddr5.
i found a used i7-4702qm for a good price,
i consulted the manufacturer and they confirmed that it can be replaced.
so my question is, how it will effect gaming performance ???
i tried to find some information but its all technical and i can't know if this upgrade is worth the money or not/
these are the main technical information about the difference in graphic performance:
Significantly better PassMark score 7,598 vs 4,162 Around 85% better PassMark score
Significantly better geekbench (32-bit) score 10,015 vs 5,502 More than 80% better geekbench (32-bit) score
Significantly better 3DMark06 CPU score 6,285 vs 3,925 More than 60% better 3DMark06 CPU score

How much did you get it for? You'll see a good increase in performance no doubt. Some may say that i5 vs i7 shows no differences in gaming, though this i5 appears to be a dual core with HT. That i7 is a quad core with HT. If you will be gaming on BF4, AC4 (kinda, uses 2 threads IIRC), or Watch Dogs you'll definitely see an increase. Take your favorite games and search up whether they're multithreaded. Aside from gaming though, you'll see better overall desktop performance.

There are very few games that are being held back by your CPU with a 750m. Strongly recommend not to upgrade.
