Hey guys, Here is my present specs,

CPU:- i7-2600 non K
CPU coller:- Purex DLX-CW919 LGA1150/1155/1156 CPU Cooler $9.99 :lol:
Mother Board:- Asus P8Z77-V LK 1155 Chip Set ( Missing the i/o shield :D )
Ram:- 4*4 16 GB DDR3... low profile; DDR= Double Data Rate. 800MHz in CPU-z is the same as DDR3-1600
SSD:- Two 128 GBSamsung 840 pro
GPU:- PNY GTX 460 1GB XLR8 (Overclocked Core Clock to 830 MHz from 765 MHz, Core Voltage 1025 mV same as before, Shadder Clock to 1660 MHz from 1530 MHz, Memory Clock 1850 MHz same as before)
PSU:- Corsair CX Series 600 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze
Case:- Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Case CC-9011023-WW
Fans:- Intake:- Front, Bottom, Side Panel (blowing on to the GPU ... freakin loud); Exhaust:- Back, 2 on top... so 6 in total, the 4 fans are generic Foxconn 4pin PWM fans and the other 2 came with case corsair 3 pin fans... (using cable splitter)
Display:- HP ZR2740w Resulation 2560*1440 60Hz... one heck of a monitor

I was trying to squeeze out every bit of performance from my aging CPU and GPU....
I used the Asus AI Suite 2 built in software to overclock the CPU (one click..that's it)
MSI Afterburner to overclock the GPU
As I overclocked the cpu and gpu; it wasnt very stable. Core 0 of cpu was hitting 127 C!!! (I know I have a crappy heat sink) and for the GPU.. games were crashing.

So I am thinking of an upgrade, among the specs u see above the only parts that I bought is the Motherboard, Power supply, crappy heatsink and the Case... everything else was gift from a very good friend of mine :)

I bought the motherboard on a insanely low price of $80.00 bucks from micro-center.

As I am thinking of an upgrade and If I want to keep the things that bought myself, the specs might be:-

CPU:- i7-3770K
CPU coller:- Noctua NH D-14
Mother Board:- Asus P8Z77-V LK 1155 Chip Set ( Missing the i/o shield :D ) {The old one}
Ram:- 4*4 16 GB DDR3... low profile; DDR= Double Data Rate. 800MHz in CPU-z is the same as DDR3-1600 {The old ones}
SSD:- Two 128 GBSamsung 840 pro {The old ones}
GPU:- GTX 770 2GB {EVEGA/PNY/ASUS/Gigabyte....haven't decided yet }
PSU:- Corsair CX Series 600 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Bronze {Old one}
Case:- Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Case CC-9011023-WW {Old one}
Fans:- Intake:- Front, Bottom, Side Panel (blowing on to the GPU... freakin loud); Exhaust:- Back, 2 on top... so 6 in total, the 4 fans are generic Foxconn 4pin PWM fans and the other 2 came with case corsair 3 pin fans... (using cable splitter) {I plan to replace all the fans with Noctua 120mm/140mm fans}
Display:- HP ZR2740w Resulation 2560*1440 60Hz... one heck of a monitor {Old one}

I plan to over clock the i7-3770k hence the noctua cpu cooler.

So what do you guys think? should I splurge about $735.00 to get those CPU $250.00, CPU Heatsink $75.00, GPU $350.00, Case Fans $60.00 updates or should I just sell (at least try to...) the current motherboard+cpu+gpu and buy i5-4670K/i7-4770k + z87 motherboard (the good kind like Asus Maximus V Hero kind) or go for a combo cpu and motherboard deal from microcenter + 770 GTX 2B GPU?

My concern is $735 its a lot of money for an upgrade, should I just sell the whole setup (without the monitor ) and buy a completely new build OR just upgrade my current system to i7-3770k + noctua Cpu Heatsink + GTX 770 2GB spending around $735 (is my current motherboard and PSU is good enough to go for this kind of upgrade?) OR go for i5-4670k/i7-4770k+z87 motherboard+GTX 770 2GB GPU

If you guys tell me to go for Haswell processor I have two options there:-

go for the combos from microcenter

1. 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-4770K 3.5GHz LGA 1150 Processor + Z87 Pro Socket LGA 1150 ATX - $424.98

OR

2. 4th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-4670K 3.4GHz LGA 1150 Processor + Z87 Pro Socket LGA 1150 ATX
- $344.98

so if I choose Haswell i5 over i7 and if I go for gtx 770 2GB which is arround $350.00 i will spending around $840.00 (with noctua heatsink and noctua case fans)

Or I don't get the micro center bundle and go for i7-4770k $270.00 + High end motherboard $220.00 range + Noctua Heatsink $75.00 + GTX 770 2GB $ 350.00 + noctua case fans $ 60.00 spending around $1000.00

I don't want to get a gtx 780 because I wont be using multiple monitors in the future and I will be keeping the one I have which is 60Hz.

I also don't wish to SLI

OR..... OR..... I just get rid of the whole damn thing... build a completely new system with better Case, PSU, RAM altogether... MAN I AM GOING CRAZY.... :pt1cable: I have homework due on monday... but cant stop thinking about my PC gears....

Guys, PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP

Update : I was also thinking to go cheap and just buy the GTX 770 2GB and a Noctua NH D14 Heatsink, so that I can safely over clock my non k i7 -2600 CPU to 4.4 - 4.5 MHz and see how it goes... If it doesn't do well I can still reuse them on a new build.... I was reading about my current Asus P8Z77-V LK 1155 Mother board and i7-2600 non K cpu... they aren't that bad...

I wouldn't get an i7 get the i5 4670k it's fine for gaming and it's probably all you need for gaming. I'd go with the 4770k if you are doing cpu intensive tasks like editing video editing etc.
