Hey,
Is the Asus PB278Q 27 inch 2560x1440 monitor good for gaming?
Is the input lag noticeably and what is the input lag specifically?
I plan to play dota2 on it competitively and also some casual gaming of arma3, bf4 and several other games.

Thanks, :)

5ms response, pretty standard for a monitor. This was made for content creation, not gaming. This is not to say it won't do both well; however, if you need 144hz and 2ms response you'll need to stay at 1080p. If you're a casual gamer in FPSs then this is PLENTY fast and it won't make a difference really in DOTA.
This is a wonderful monitor. However, as Malaki noted, you'll probably need a graphics card with at least 3GB of VRAM to take full advantage of it. Think r9 280X or above and GTX 770 4GB and above for high settings and mild antialiasing. These two graphics cards are the sweet spot for price/performance at this resolution. But, if you're fine spending $500 on a monitor and fine shelling out another $450 or so for a graphics card, pick up an r9 290. BF4 will thank you for it.
