As the title of the thread suggests, I'm a complete amateur when it comes to building computers. However, through lots of research I've come up with the following gaming build (excluding peripherals). I intend to use this computer for gaming/web browsing. I don't intend to do any video editing or anything of the sort.

First and foremost, are all the components compatible? Is this overkill to run most games on Ultra settings? Is there something I'm missing? Your suggestions and comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

It's not overkill for running games on max and looks good.

Looks good and will treat you perfectly fine. I'm assuming 1080p but yes you're good to go.

Great rig, should love it, good combo of components, if possible would kick the DRAM up to 1866/9 anyway, Haswell loves fast DRAM - and very expandable, the Hero can run about anything (mine in sig)

Thank you all for your expedited responses! I'm glad there is nothing wrong with the build - I was afraid that the case would be too small, the power supply inefficient, or pretty much any other pairing mistakes that could be detrimental to the build itself.

On a side note though, is there a benefit to having 16GB versus 8BG for this particular build?

16 gb is only good if your video editing and rendering is when that becomes useful, for just gaming and web browsing 8gb is fine.
