Hi, (first time poster, tho avid reader)

I was hoping to take advantage of Best Buy's current offer to pick up a secondary pc that can handle some gaming duty. I already have a sufficient graphics card and psu, so I'm looking to keep my out-of-pocket cost ~$400.

Three I'm considering are:

I realize the i5 is more powerful, but is there any insight anyone can give about the reliability of the brands, motherboards or other aspects of the builds that could help me decide?

Thanks

No, trade in is only good for whole system (tower at least). i've looked into building, but the price point is ~$600.

I've been gaming with an 8 year old HP Pavilion a1540n (as secondary comp). With the PSU and graphics card I already own, I think it will supplement my gaming needs (lanning with son) fine (the i5s certainly). It won't blow my doors off, of course. I suppose my main concern is probably the reliability of the motherboard and the feasibility of a 3rd party replacement, should it fail.
