Will a 720p game look bad on 1080p full hd monitor?

PS3 outputs the games in 720p.
I am planning to buy a 22'' full hd monitor.
Are the games going to look bad on a full hd monitor?
Will it help if I set my PS3 to display only 720p so that the image does not get stretched to get displayed at 1080p?
I have no problem playing at 720p.

No, it will look fine. I used to play xbox 360 on a 1080p monitor and it looked fine, infact it seemed to look sharper than on most Tvs.
