Hi there,
I am planning to buy Samsung U28D590D monitor and I think for that I also need Graphics card? as I am using built-in Intel HD 4000 with core i7.
Do I need new graphics card? (I don't play games but I do play with photoshop sometimes) if so can you please advice me the cheapest possible card with DisplayPort?
And one more question please, is 30Hz too bad for normal work or watching movies ? If I choose 1080p resolution will I get 60Hz then ?

Take care and have a nice weekend,

EVGA GTX 750 Ti will do 4K, and it has DisplayPort. It won't run any games at 4K, but since you said you don't play any, it will be fine. Additionally, it only requires a 300W PSU, so you should be able to run it. I would double check your PSU though in case you need to upgrade it.

It's also on sale on NewEgg right now. Using the promo code EMCYTZT59227 and the rebate, it will end up being $130 before taxes. The deal ends today so I would jump on it quickly. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487024

I agree with the 750 ti card, cheap and can push pixels to 4k for movies and such. Also movies usually only run at 24ish fps so a 30Hz will be fine, but you would get 60Hz or 120Hz if you go with 1080p, 1440p 1600p. But if your not gaming you don't need anything higher then 30hz.

+1 for the EVGA GTX 750Ti SC http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IDG3IDO if you're not going to be doing any gaming. This is a perfect card for streaming videos or general computer use at 4K resolutions.

If you plan to do any gaming at 4K then you will need at least an ASUS GTX 780Ti DCUII http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSY1RVC to play with higher than medium settings with decent frame rates. If you like some serious eye candy then you would need two of these in SLI to be able to do some hard core gaming with nice visuals and great playability.

I am running three of these monitors off an AMD firepro W7000 and it handles them beautifully. The big thing is to make sure the card can do 60hz at 4k, I accidentally bought an intel NUC mini PC that does 4k but the fine print is that it is only at 30hz which is incredibly slow and basically unusable.

Also some of the W7000 cards come with an elongated heat sink out the back of them which can make them a pain to fit in smaller cases.
