Changed graphics card to another pci-e slot and now system can't detect the device.

Hi all,

So I wanted to move my graphics card to another pci-e slot on my motherboard. I plug my monitor to the card and turn on my system and all is fine until I log in. It seems the graphics program can't detect my card even though its currently using it to put an image into my monitor. So then I plug the card back to its first pci-e slot and all is working well. What?

BTW the card mentioned is a MSI 7850
