I just installed a XFX Pro 1250W PSU today, When i installed the PSU i had a little stab at cable management. Although the upper-half of the case looks pretty clear (Except for the back corner, needs a cable tie or 2), the lower part is a mesh of wires. Has anyone got any tips on how to free up some space down there? I cant remove any of the cables except for maybe one sata cable (For the PCI-Express card, i stupidly bought a motherboard w/o USB 3.0 so that adds functionality for me, reason i can maybe remove sata is i have a molex to sata adapter).

Also, there is a molex connector outside of the case on that picture, that's because there are Molex powered fans in the side panels, so when i took the panel off the connector was still attached.

Chris

Do you have space left on the right side of the chassi looking from the front?
Othervice most of the non modular cables you can run in to the hd cage in circles attatched to the left wall with cable ties.

Make shure you start with the non modular pci e cables don't ad extra in the mix.

What is that fat cable running across the gpu? 8 pin eps?

Fat cable is the 8 pin CPU cable, only using 4 pins as well but dont have an actual 4 pin cable. This is pretty much the only way i can get it to the MB as it's not very long. The hard drive bays on the right, apart from the drive you can see, are completely empty.

BTW that PSU is fully modular, but all of the cables there are in use. In that bunch there's also a Molex to 3pin adapter, which has 2 molex connectors (one male, one female) and 2 3-pin connectors, both in use.

For the 8 pin eps (cpu Cable) i recommend you bye an extension cable in appropriate size (length). There not expensive! like 4-7 usd. Cant you detatch the 8pin in two? Most 8 pin is backward compatible that way. Search for 8 pin eps extension cable at you first choise IT online store. I see the cage is empty, use it to hide and tide Cables with.

The fan cable hanging from the top looks pretty long you probably can route it along the top with cable ties, to the left of the exhaust fan.

Thanks for the help, the 8 pin does detach into a 4 pin but the other 4 pins are just sort of hanging there :p  I'll have a look for extension cables now, might even have one lying around knowing me :p  Thanks for all the help btw

EDIT: Found an extension within 30 seconds of searching my old PSU's box...

You`re welcome! :)  Glad to help.

The 4 pins should sorta hang there, you will need them when/if you get a newer/bigger board.

There ain't no "if" about it ;)  Gonna try this extension cable now to see what I can come up with

Not quite sorted out but at least I've sorted some stuff out, namely the CPU Cable (You can't see the port on the pic but it's clear), fan cable and removal of a sata cable from the PSU. Still, imo looks a lot better, even if it is a lot messier around the other side for now

Wow, i`d say its a loot better! Good work man! The other side meaning the right side from the front does`nt matter, it what its there for. Your Cables dosnt mind but your cpu and gpu does and they thank you every day for it! :p  :)

What does mind is my SSD which is mounted back there, knocked the SATA power out when i reattached that panel, s**t a brick when i got the Boot Failed message D:

Be careful. Good cooling dont exceed a working computer. I take it there wasnt any permanent damage and you`re up and running again?

Yeah everythings fine, Luckily i'd turned everything off before managing the cables :p  Moved a couple of cables at the back around so that the panel doesn't catch any of them when closing it
