I would go for 770(acualy i will really get 770 next month :D ) the 800 series will be from 400$ to 1000$ i think and they will be out at the end of the summer if you're a student better get the 770 series it would be even good if you get 770 and in half year or year you do a sli otherwise if you[re an adult save some money and wait for the 800 series!

I'm waiting for my tax refund before I make a decision but I'm leaning more toward getting a GTX 770 if I can score one around the $320 range. I also have a bunch of other stuff I want to get so I need to spread my refund out wisely.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx770dc2o...

asus gtx 770 2gb with two fan cooler only $310

the 7xx models will fall a bit in price upon release of the 8xx series but likely not enough to worth waiting for. the 8xx series may bring better performance but will also cost more as well.

i say get the 770 asus while its on sale.

an alternate would be the gigabyte windforce triple fan cooler model although i heard they were having a little bit of quality issues (just heresay i've heard on here so you need to research that yourself.) http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn770... for $328

of course... that is if you are in the usa. sorry... cant say i keep track of where everyone is located at off the top of my head :)

well... thats if you want the 760 instead of the 770.

its your call completely but i'd personally get the $310 asus 770 for $50 more

there are pretty decent gains to be had http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1037?vs=1038

I definitely don't have the kind of cash required for a 2560 x 1440 monitor so that's kind of a non issue, my 1080P Acer has held up surprisingly well the last few years.

The new cards will not be out by 2014, maybe Q1 of 2015, but probably Q2/3. Same with AMD. I would go with a 770 now. Unless you can wait another year or so,

I wound up getting the EVGA superclocked 760, since Tiger Direct had it on sale for $40 less than the Gigabyte model and like $50 less for what Newegg had it.
