Hi I'm trying to choose between three computers, and a big factor for me is the graphics card (all Nvidia) they pack:

1. GTX 760 oem (1.5 GB DDR5)
2. GTX 645 (2GB DDR5)
3. GT 635 (2GB DDR3)

I'd like to get the first one, but I noticed that it only has 1.5 gb of dedicated video memory, as compared to the other two with 2 gb. How big of an issue is this (1.5 vs 2 gb), and overall, which do you feel is the best graphics card of the three?

I'm not really talking about price as there are other factors and I just want to focus on the graphics card at the moment.

Thanks!

the 760 oem is vastly superior to the other two, over twice as fast.

the 645 has ddr5 but its on a 128bit lane, the 760(oem) has a 192bit lane so its through put is much faster even if it has less overall capacity.

as far as gaming, or any other application where the gpu is used, the 760(oem) is far better. the other two can play games but at any modern resolution it would be at very reduced settings. the 760(oem) can play almost all games near maxed out settings at 1080p no problem.

thanks for your answer :)  Just wanted to clarify though - even though the throughput (data transfer) is much faster on the 760, wouldn't it hit a road block if the game requires more capacity than the 1.5 gb it provides? I'm not sure this is a fair comparison, but wouldn't it be something like a blazing fast computer with little ram?

because they are so slow and cannot handle maxed out texture mapping, nor can they handle high levels of anti aliasing, the 645 and 635 would never fill up their capacity. you would need to run high graphical settings to punish the vram.

basically the 760(oem) is the same as a regular gtx760 2gb you'd find for sale anywhere except it has a slightly lower core speed and .5gb less vram. at worst you would have to run the anti aliasing setting on games one tick lower or use fxaa or smaa instead of 2xmsaa or 4xmsaa "if" you start filling it up. only a handful of the most demanding games would this happen.
