Hey guys.

I had recently bought BF4 and it has been giving me a LOT of problems.
It Keeps freezing , and when i ALT + TAB , i notice that RAM is @ 80% usage ,
and it keeps increasing [80.....81......82] until it reaches 100 and my whole computer freezes.

I have tried various updates and community fixes but none worked.

Many of the players got their issue resolved by installing windows 8.1, and suggested me the same.

Now before i head out and buy Windows 8.1 ,
Can you guys tell me if it is worth it ?

1. Will games run smoothly on it ? [I have seen many people reporting an increase in they're gaming performance but some people have been complaining of poor performance]

2.How many of y'all have used /are using windows 8.1 and what is/are your experiences with it.

3.Will older games face a problem ?

4.Will my APU and Nvidia Drivers Conflict ?

Please leave your suggestion so i can make up my mind. :)

PS: I will be doing a CLEAN INSTALL if i purchase a copy.

1. Games run a bit faster on it. I have seen a few different test side-by-side and in order it goes Win8.1, Win7, and Win8.
2. Windows 8 can be pretty hard to get used to, and if you are someone who is used to windows 7 like I am, it can be hard to navigate if something messes up. (You shouldn't have this problem since it was the HDD with mine)
3. You can run older games in compatibility mode and it should run just fine.
4. Your drivers should conflict if you don't run them both at once. You should be fine.

Since you are doing a clean install I am guessing you are also deleting BF4, which means that new OS and new files should mean you will get better performance. Also, there have been some rumors about windows 9 going around, being rushed since windows 8 got so much hate compared to likeness. I heard that it was going to go away from the windows 8 (obviously) but this is all speculation and it should be worth it to get windows 8 since more games will be switching over to the newest OS anyways. Good Luck

P.S. If it is just your RAM acting up and your CPU doing fine your RAM might be going bad also.

WOW ! Thanks dude !

Your post HELPED a LOT !!! :D

No , its not a RAM problem , cause i'm able to run games and other RAM intensive tasks without any problems, and many people seem to be having the same problem.

BTW , what did u mean by "It can be hard to navigate if something messes up"
and I really like the windows 8 Interface [I use it on my laptop,

Only the start menu was missing , but thats fixed in 8.1 , so yeah :)

Sorry for long reply, was out of town. Anyways, what I meant by it can be hard to navigate if something messed up is that another windows 8 computer I have something glitched and the mouse disappeared. I had to do a few things to get it back up and when I did those things the sound and internet didn't work. Glad I could help.
