Hi Guys,
I'm soon going to hopefully invest in a new monitor to replace my trusty old ASUS 24" VW246H which has been fantastic.
The one I have my eye on is the ASUS ROG 27" PG278Q which hasn't been released quite yet. It is on the expensive side but when it comes to monitors, I run them hard and long (The VW246H being since Dec '09). It will be a 1440p monitor with a refresh rate of 120Hz+.
Now last year I upgraded my computer to the following:
Intel Core i7 4770 (Non-K; I regret this),
16GB DDR3 RAM @ 1666MHz
250GB Samsung EVO SSD
500GB WD Hard Drive (Existing)
850W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU (Existing - Used since Dec '08 so will replace this at the same time as the GPU)
and the eVGA GTX 760 2GB GDDR5
Now, what would be the best graphics card for me to get for this new monitor? I've heard the 760 may be a bit of a slouch with 1440p despite being pretty new.
Edit: I'd like to add I am not a fan of AMD Graphics Cards whatsoever so I'd like advise on NVIDIA based Graphics Cards only please.
Also SLI is not an option I'm afraid as my Motherboard (ASUS Z87-K) doesn't support SLI
Would it be best to wait for the 800 series cards to come out? Can anyone suggest what I should do? Obviously what I do will determine what PSU I get.
Thanks for your help,
Chris
