Build a computer, they say easy, get the hardware, you can do it ,now im not so sure.I recently "a couple of years" decided to learn how to use a computer . I purchased a reasonable pre-built PC for about $800 from a local guy and it has been good.I learnt the basics "still have problems with files on windows" Anyway I realized how much iv been missing by resisting tech allthese years and decided to build a PC with a bit of power to maybe use as a working platform and gaming.Watched a million Utube videos,Linus,3DOC,tech this, tech that, and had the confidence to proceed.Got a tax return and researched the hardware and purchased them.Asus RAMPAGE 1V-BLACK EDITION,Corsair 900D case, intel i7 4930,Corsair h105 cooling,LG BH16NS4 Blu-Ray write 16x,Western 3TB green, Samsung EVO 250 ssd,Asus gtx 780 ENGTX 780-DC2OC,Windows Pro 64 bit,Asus PBQ278 Monitor plus my old 23 Samsung HD,Corsair RM-1000PSU.I also have a Samsung 120 EVO ssd from my old PC that I would like to use if I can.The original board I chose was the P9X79-E WS,but after all the reading and watching I was itching to do it on the easter weekend and could not get that MOBO, so went with the Rampage. Now the memory I got, im not so sure about now,i think I found it when I was researching the WS,and now I cant find any thing on it in relation to the Rampage board. It is Corsair CMY32GX3M4A1866C9,the corsair site doesn't list the board in the memory finder, and the Asus site dosnt support it.So now i'v got all this awesome stuff, im broke, and I have no confidence to proceed. When I was researching it I kinda thought I had an understing of RAID ,but now that iv got the stuff ,not so much. Can I use the 129GB SSD and the 240GB ssd ,do I need to get another 3TB green. As you can see im in deep water, considering the first time I used a keyboard was about 2 years ago and I am an "MIDDLE AGED" bloke. Any help would be appreciated.....signed "what was I thinking"

So what is your question? Are you wanting someone to build this for you? Are you asking if the Ram you purchased is compatible with your mother board?

you need 2 identical drives for the raid you are probably talking about (the fast one.)

corsair ram? itll probably work regardless. go for it.

relax, chances are everything will be fine. raid isnt a requirement anyway. that single ssd you have is speedy.

i like to use a 2nd ssd as my download drive. that way if im unraring or copying or whatever from it, it has maximum speed. as you arent reading and writing to the same drive (like to unrar.)

Hi neon, I just went to big too quick I think.if I get another 3tb wd green I can set it up as raid so it is a backup of 3tb if one fails?

yeah, you can set up a drive to clone the information off another drive. that is another type of raid. typically used in servers for redundancy so if one drive fails, or sectors go bad you dont lose the information.
