AC1200 DB Ghz help. (Other as well)

I've just purchased a new router, upgrading from a stock version. The old router was a Wireless-N 150 Router WNR1000 v2. So the AC1200 DB should be a good upgrade from that. However, while setting up the new router, I came across 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Which would be better ? I currently have 2 Computers, (1 which plays online games-Battlefield 3, 4, etc). Tablet, TV, 2 PS3's, and small devices which you can use netflix on. So, you can see I needed to upgrade lol. Also, please if you know anything that is recommended doing that can help with performance or boost up anything in the settings, please tell me how. Would love it.

I actually have a piece of crap laptop. lol. Currently having problems with it as well, gonna most likely post a way to fix it on here as well, if i get no luck searching. This Laptop only has 1.6Ghz,

The 1.6Ghz is probably the CPU frequency. I was talking about the wifi frequency between your router and the laptop. The specs should be in the laptop manual.
